Markiz Patent is a patent office established under the leadership of Mr. Orhan ERIMAN, and is working on trademark and patent registration for more than 30 years in Turkey. It started in the late 80s in an environment during which industrial rights in Turkey were only protected under the Law of Patent adopted in 1879 and the Law of Trademarks adopted in 1960s. Important experience was gained through Decree Laws No. 551, 554 and 556 about protection of patents, designs and trademarks which entered into force when Turkey joined the Customs Union and World Trade Organization in 1995. The Law of Industrial Property No. 6769 which was finally endorsed by the Turkish Parliament on 22 December 2016 and entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette of 10 January 2017 date, was really a revolutionary development.

Directly supporting the industry and trade professionals in the establishment, development and crawling phases of the sector in Turkey, Mr. Orhan Eriman is now sharing his experiences and rendering his services in a corporate level through Markiz Patent Ltd. Sti. which he led in establishing in March 2011.
